No problems to my knowledge but I wouldn't leave anything of value in my car. Camper vans are often parked there overnight.

Like  Loch valley then up to Loch Enoch. Never got the chance to see the supposedly special white sandy beach on Loch Enoch. Supposed to be so pure it was collected for the glass industry apparently. It was always so full that there were no beaches showing. Only ever been there is pouring rain.

Which way you go? What route? I intend to go back there to my old haunts. Spent about 5 years going to that area about 3 or 4 times a year. A lot to see over there. Plan to do the Rhinns of Kell round and down the Range of the Awful hand back to the car someday. Think it is kinda the route of the Bruce's Crown fell race that used to be run there. Make a nice tidy 3 dayer or possinbly 4 easier days.

That sounds a really good and logical round. Some great wild country and you certainly wouldn't see many people other than on the Merrick. Hard going though.

The route I took was from Loch Trool ,
took the forestry path past Loch Dee, then up to road that runs parallel to silver flowe to backhill of bush bothy,
we had planned to walk up Corserine but drizzling and cloud very low so stayed the night at bothy.
The road from Loch Dee to backhill bothy is a bit bleak as lots of forestry work in the area.

Day 2
Sun was shining , We meant to go from bothy directly west to Nick of the Dungeon but was to boggy so walked North along forestry road
a couple of miles then headed west crossed a stream and followed Pulskaig Burn to Loch Enoch, Around Loch Enoch up to Neldriken, then up Redstone Rig to Merrick , then tourist trail back to Loch Trool.

The small beaches at Loch Enoch are quite impressive and the sand is very soft.
Did the walk back in April on a Fri/Saturday only saw 1 other walker(at car park) and 2 forestry workers during the 2 days.

First time in south west of Scotland and very impressed not just by the Galloway Forest Park but by the very nice coastal area and interesting towns and big rivers.
Will be back in the Autumn if not before to walk the Rhinn of Kells.

Any walk around there should take in the Dungeon Hills if possible. Lovely tops with some wonderful rock formations and as remote feeling as you can get.
