I was last up there a couple of years ago and there were still people camping on the river bank. From memory I think there is a CHARGE for using the car park. The YH been sold. I drove up the glen about 6.00am and there was obviously a bike meet the night before since there were tents along the roadside all the way up the glen.

I know that the campsite has been closed and i think there is a charge for the car park. You may be interested to know that the Angus Glens Walking Festival starts Thursday so it could be busy.

Hi everyone..my name is neil and iam a countryside ranger with angus council based at glen doll.  I have just come across this site for the 1st time..  You should all be aware that overnite stays in the car park are not allowed! although you can leave a motor parked there overnite and for several days, camping in the car park or staying in a motor home in the car park is against local by-laws!  there are however sites where we allow low level wild camping to take place and also there are a couple of places nearby where you can park up and stay in a motor home with out any hassel.  Please call the rangers at glen doll on 01575 550233 ask for neil, graham or catriona and we will do whatever we can to make your stay an enjoyable one...it is a fantastic area you are all most welcome!  I would love to tell you more rite now but I am on my way out.  I would welcome any questions and will do my best to help you!

regards

neil

Let you stay where? And why did they need to know where you were?

Parked in the car park, probably, judging by the post above.

The Ranger dude says you can leave a car in the car park for several days. I get that. What I don't get is the "they let me stay aslong as they knew where i was" bit.

I've a feeling that Chuck is unlikely to reappear and explain what he meant
