I think web shops / sites who offer free UK delivery  (even for a limited period) should Discount by the same value the delivery charge to other parts of the world

It is the world Wide Web and we are all customers

i dont. the exchange rate is bollocks so your getting it cheaper anyway if you follow my drift.

stop moaning and be glad you can afford to buy things from other countries, we uk dwellers are being shafted right now and cant afford to visit the places who complain about free post.

I agree with CBB above - but in any case, the discount would be much less than you think as internal post in the UK - especially if they have a contract with a carrier other than the Royal Mail - can be literally pennies.

Some companies do offer what Ed asks (www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk) , also don't forget folk outside the EU can claim the VAT back.

Not really getting it cheaper if you take it into account that most materials are made in made land europe, so the uk price has gone up a bit to take that into account.
& if you really think you are the only ones getting shafted, go have a talk with some greeks, spanish, portuguese or irish. Am sure they could tell you just how sore the shafting is!
