and lye is...and where do you get it in the UK?

(I know the answer to the questions by the way...I am a science teacher)

and how do you know the chemical reaction is fully completed...so you dont actually try to wash your stuff in partially dissolved sodium or potassium hydroxide?

as for wearing gloves..what about the faceshield and lung protection against fumes as the reactants boil?

and what type of oil...castrol GTX...bog standard veg oil...extra virgin olive oil?

Just making the point in case anyone is actually tempted to try this at home..its not as simple as google a recipe and then buying a £1 orange bucket from BandQ before launching in.

Just do what I do...buy the soap from a shop.
