I don't read blogs so I might be way off the mark? When they are essentially the musings or thoughts of an individual that's fine but when people get paid in kind or given kit to test I can imagine it wouldn't belong before they send each other Christmas cards or sniff each others farts in mutual appreciation. The trouble is the ordinary punter googling a point of interest and stumbling across a blog wouldn't know this and it might be misleading.
In an era where newbies do a lot of trawling the net, they might unknowingly be encouraged to buy a turd sandwich by stealth.
At least with a forum like this you can take differing opinions and then make your own mind up
Aktoman is another good one, the first blog i ever read, seems to have gone a bit quiet of late though.
I'm not sure about the factory visits and free gear though. I wonder why companies do that?
Aktoman stopped posting about the outdoors months ago. These days he seems to post rambling stream of consciousness thoughts and random links to YouTube. If I want to be bored by the minutiae of someone's everyday life, there is always facebook.
