Walking and Climbing

Hi,

 I am organising a five day challenge to scale the height of Mount Everest in the Lake District from August 1- August 5th.

This consists of climbing ten mountains in total from roadside to the top then back down before moving on to the next one (to get the height).

The Mountain leader had to drop out and so I am in desperate need of a new one. Accommodation, food and transport will be provided.

The mountains that are going to be used include:

• Hellvelyn
• Fairfield
• High Street
• Thornthwaite
• Blencathra
• Skiddaw
• Grisedale Pike
• Grassmoor
• Great Gable
• Scafell Pike

Hi Emma,

There's a firm in Keswick called mountain sense who do ML training, I did mine with them last year. Might be worth dropping the guys there a line to see if they could recommend someone.

 Just a thought

don't see why you need an ML?

especially in August?

Most people on this site are far far more expierancied than your average ML.

Try the MLTA - they have a register of active MLs one of whom may take pity on you.

Nick...thats a six inch brush comment ...would you like to dig the hole you have palced yourself in by justifying that comment?

(Here is a hint - think you may be surprised at the number of OM members who are also MLs or maybe its vice versa)
