I would seriously suggest you to avoid the Horton campsite if you fancy a good night sleep before a that little walk you thinking of Dids...unless you have a very deep sleep...

I'd stay away from Horton as well Diddy - its a nice enough site, but you are unlikely to get piece and quiet.

it can be a little noisey.

Have to give the old fella who owns the place his due, The campsite had loads of 3 peakers' staying there over the weekend when i stopped during my pennine way trip.

The old boy let me stay for nowt and gave us apples, oranges and  banana's for free.(he normally sells this type of grab to the other campers,  (he said PWers have his respect blah, blah that type of bollocks etc..)

The pitch was like a bowling green and the showers where hot.

So fair play to the old boy.

Must recommend the pub at Helwith Bridge, a proper F**kin pub, you can stay at the back in Hotel Paradiso, which sleeps around 8 people. you can hire the "Hotel" for a tenner a night for the building.  2 quid a night isn't that bad

If i remember i think the pub is called the Bridge Inn.

It's a nice campsite per se, the problem is that the owner lets everybody in so you have some very annoying people keeping you up...I spent a couple of hours in the big tent, having a chat. It was amusing, bit hippie really.

As Nick, the Helwith Bridge pub is a proper boozer. You can pitch there actually, they have a field. The Hotel Paradiso is smaller I think, 4 people only? Last time I asked it was 2.5 pppn. Very basic facilities.

When I walked from Helwith Bridge to Horton alongside the river, I noticed a nice field with a tap in it and notices about not camping before asking permission so there must be a farm allowing pitching there but I never found anything on line.

I read recently on here you can pitch at the back of the Station Inn at Ribblehead, plenty of room there as it is a big common field.
