Let's start with the fact that on my work machine I cannot download, upload or add new software so cannot use Adblocker...

Anyone else finding the latest peel-back in the corner ad - for Grangers - is freezing their OM page?

Got rid of it by reporting to AV as spam.

You could ask IT Admin to do the same!!

Might work, don't know, I've had Admin, ( with limations ), on any 'work' 'pooter I've used. Not that many!!!

What would be handy for peeps using home/works pooters, is a 'button' saying "No thanks, I do not want to see ads.

Happens on other sites and doesn't seem to cause too much differance. Peeps see ad. next time block it from showing. May/probably have read it so know what ad. is about. They can also restore ad. if they wish to read/see it again.

You could run Firefox Portable from a USB thumb drive - that way you wouldn't break the rules, since the software is not installed and indeed would leave no trace on the host machine. You could then put use the AdBlocker add-on in Portable Firefox.

Mmm. Plugging unauthorised device into pooter = get fired. Everthing gets logged and acted upon.

Suggesting to IT that OM is purely "work related" could prove tricky and would more likely get the site banned.

We are sorry that some people appear to be experiencing issues with the Page Peel ad format. This ad type is user initiated so should only ever expand when the mouse cursor is rolled over it. We do our best to test all ads before making them live and did not find any issues with this particular one.

Therefore can you let me know some information about the system/browser etc you are using (i.e IE 7 on a PC) so i can get our tech team to look into this freeze problem you are experiencing?

Thanks

Any chance of saying no to moving ads?

They serve no purpose, except to annoy folk.

yes well its right next to the slider bar so it is kind of inevitable that you will accidently glide over the tab....why not put it on the left hand side where the cursor doesnt go as often?
