Is it because there's not enough regain of height after dropping down from the Black Mountain? I'm planning a continuous route (East to West) that will take in all 34 Nuttalls in the Brecon Beacons range. I can see Garreg Lwyd from my back garden so I basically want to walk home!
Black Mountain is higher. I've never walked in the Black Mountains so trying to visualise the best/shortest route to take that will link up the 12 Nuttalls there is tricky on my 1:50000 Any tips Kate?
As per Wikipedia there's a 15 metre relative height requirement, which it presumably fails. Not by much I guess - its hardly exacting! - but there you go.
It's a deleted Nuttall, so presumably has been re measured at some point, I nabbed it as it's very much on the way.I did all the Black mountains Nuttalls a couple of weeks ago and it's pretty easy going, I think it was 900m ascent and 15 miles one day and 700m and 13 m on day 2.
Thanks Kate, I couldn't decide which was the best order to do them in. 45k sounds like a long way now! I was hoping to do the whole thing in 3 long days but that looks slightly optimistic with my current fitness levels!
