I have a double disability for a bloke. 1st, I have long ginger hair; 2nd my manrag (thats the facial hair) hardly grows.

HOWEVER... I'm certain whenever I spend time in the mountains, the mountain-man disease really does kick in and my beard grows around 10 times faster n' thicker.  Weird. 3 days in the hills is like three weeks in the office!

Anyone know the scientific base for my tragic hypothesis?

No idea...but I have had a beard for over 30 years...gave up with shaving after I had to start shaving three times a day in my late teens.

Does it grow faster...not that I have  notice.  On the other hand

When I go to France (in particular) my nails seem to take on a life of their own and need cutting every week!

The theory is that the very hard water in France provides the minerals for them to grow, cant see it myself.

Well the scientists say......

"Facial hair is largely governed by production of testosterone, which is known to be secreted by the testicles in greater quantities during and in anticipation of intercourse. Scientists have also found that increased beard growth was associated with tension, mental fatigue, alcohol and increased shaving. On the other hand, it is apparently curtailed by heavy exercise and high temperatures. "

So your beard grows faster out on the hill 'cause you're Randy, Apprehensive (probably from being caught with the sheep), knackered (from having sex with the sheep) and pissed (hence why you found the sheep attractive in the first place)

Sometimes I think...far too much personal insight on the issue...far, far too much personal insight on the issue...

But at least he didnt have an explanation as to my nails.

This coming Tuesday could provide the answer; should be an entertaining half hour winding up Scotch people given Herring's past form.

I never shave anymore (with a razor, anyway), just do a beard trim once a week with my clippers. I quite like the rugged look it gives me aswell.

I have to cut my fingernails 2 - 3 times a week and my toe nails once a month, I've always thought that weird.

As for GOF's post... hahahahahahaha
