I have not been receiving notifications for forums and personal messages for some time now, but have just received 27 notifications from Outdoors Magic all at once. Is this a common experience?
Ha! That happened a few years ago. The notifications system suffered a blockage, then someone gave it a laxative and we got hundreds of notifications through all in one go. Answer is to turn off notifications unless it's an important thread (a Classified, for example).
Yes. OM's 'notification server' (which provides notifications for both threads & PM) seems to crash fairly regularly, and needs prodding with a pointy stick to re-start.
Gavin applied the pointy stick a couple of weeks ago (but it crashed again four days later), and Jon instigated a stick prodding today, both at my prompting.
