I don't know if its just me but I've tried on and off for a long time to update a review and just get a technical error, its says a report has been sent but this has been happening for a long long time
And while we're on the reviews... I've been trying to do a review of the Windshadow for a while now. At least two requests to OM Towers for it to get into the system but nothing going...
It could really do with an overhaul as at present it resembles an out-of date pile of papers rather than an up-to-date, well sorted and filed source of information. Part of that is down to search options, of course, where Magicalia could really do with upgrading to a better system. Hang on... "better" could still be more or less useless, so let's say "decent".
Yep, have to agree, site has great articles, great forums, other great areas like the link page and pictures, routes etc.. but the review section just plain sucks, very rare I even find the item I wish to review as can't start new items and searching is cumbersome. The best site review section I've found is on backpackinglight, please take some notes from there. Maybe you should ditch what is already there and start from scratch.
It definitely needs some facility for adding items not already listed. And some of the existing reviews need deleted or put in an archive section -- I think I saw a listing the other day for the "radical new Whillans sit harness".
Dunno, archive items are interesting because you can see where you've come from
But yes keeping it up to date would be rather useful. Although given how insanely fast the turn over in outdoor clothing styles/names is nowadays its almost hard to see how most folk could manage asensible review before something gets obseleted...
