It did. Although actually another fascinating thing there - compare the results for the MH Dry Q thing too. Same membrane as Event of course, slightly different results. Face fabrics etc can matter.

(although some of that maybe experimental error due to varying weather as it seems to start rather higher at time 0.).

Hi Ian hope you didn't pay full price for your Vatnajokull jacket. Found it on one website for £94.50 although as its in a sale I can't confirm what sizes are available. Go here www.nordicoutdoor.co.uk/66-north/mens.html

There is a bit of confusion with 66 North,Polartec, and 66 North's product descriptions.  There are two jackets with similar names using similar technology: the Vatnajokull Jacket; and the Vatnajokull Softshell.  The former uses Polartec Wind Pro and Powershield etc, and the latter uses Powershield Pro that has the fancy new membrane.

I think I would have wept if it had been the Softshell at £95.  Personally I believe it's too good a technology to be discountable anytime soon.  Given that this jacket is the first new jacket I've had in 15 years (and so I'm possibly easily impressed), I've been pleasantly surprised.

I have loved my NF Kishtwar jacket. It has performed very well in numerous highly aerobic situations including mountain climbing, snowshoeing, and x-country skiing. Likewise, I have found it extremely breathable across these activities. My first experience with it was climbing 3000ft of vertical to the top of an 11000ft peak during a snowstorm with 30+ mile per hour winds and 10degrees F. I felt it was highly wind resistant while shedding all of the snow that hit it. After my descent, I checked the interior of the jacket and it had remained very dry. In warmer temps, I have simply unzipped the front pockets for increased ventilation when needed.
