I'm off to the Lakes this weekend to partake in a little jolly around the Scafells and it has been suggested that we should have a go via Lord's Rake. I was under the impression that this route was off limits due to a loose stone/rock but a little trawl of google and various blogs seem to indicate if you are careful (and not the unlucky one to try and catch the falling stone if it were to fall), passage is possible.

Does anyone who has done it have any sound advice or tips.

(As a caveat, that some will attest to, I can fall off simple snowy slopes?)

Indeed you can - I was up there a few months back; just stay right on the way up (you can go up partially 'protected' by some rock fins. Then (alas) jink left then right under the blocks...

As old (alive) climbers say 'been there for years'

About 1/4 of the way down this page...

Safe as houses...

Sorry to disappoint but we didn't get over to Scafell in the end as a guy with us called Darren had a bad ankle injury so it was enough for us to get up Lingmell, Scafell Pike and down Brown Tongue.

Maybe next time, we'll see.
