If you think 64 turbines is going to improve this area then don't sign the petitions

I wonder if online petitions have ever accomplished anything? Call me cynical, but it seems all too easy to ignore them and there's no way to prove all the signers are genuine

If you're in the neighbourhood, theyworkforyou is a slightly more practical way to get heard. If you're not in that part of the world, it would be just as useful to contact your MP anyway and grumble about the fact that windfarms represent terrible value for money when it comes to power generation, and there's no justification for screwing up bits of our country that look like the photo above.

I've been part of a recent campaign to stop the sell off of a local historic house, doing the tech stuff. An online petition was part of it, collecting 2000 signatures in just two weeks. It worked. So yes, they can help as one part of a wider campaign.

You're right though; it's only a part of the process.

Wot Nick and Ramblin said

I dunno whether online petitions are effective or not but I've signed it anyway (it's got about 1,000 signatures so far).

1005.. what really annoys me is how uselessly inefficient the things are as a source of energy.. there are none in britain that would make an actual return on cost of manufacture if it were not for subsidy.
