If you use a PET (eg coke) bottle or other as meths container, does anywhere sell inserts with a smaller hole (reducer) to reduce the flow of meths.

A pity the trangia push valve tops only work on heavy(100g) internally threaded bottles.

Well, one approach might be to take a second screw cap, with a small hole drilled in it.  Use the undrilled cap for transport, and use the drilled cap for pouring.  Just make sure you replace the undrilled cap before travelling again...  Different colours, perhaps?

I found some excellent screw-closure nozzle bottles (Pantene conditioner bottles).  They're my current favourite.  Second left at the back here:

Oh, and the smaller one just peeking out of the sawn-off meths bottle on the right...

Thanks, I didn't think of the neat spare holed cap idea, and although it partly loses a real reducer's other benefit of limiting the severity of a spill (by reducing amount spilled), the risk period is limited to lid swapping.

We always used to use contact lens cleaner bottles, after a while the lids breakdown and become brittle, but it takes quite a long while.

Found this flip top for drinks bottles,
from yjr maker of a TrailDesigns-12-10-ish-like stove with simmer control (interesting inn itself).

They suggest it can suck unused fuel out of burner:

remember to ensure burner is cold and extinguished!

I prefer to use a separate small bottle for extraction (doubles as measuring bottle for filling burner): safer as is empty.

> Found this flip top for drinks bottles

missing link...?

Google didn't find 'YJR stove'.  Actually, it had replaced 'YJR' with 'the'.  I hate it when Google gets 'clever'; JFGI, and don't fiddle with my search strings.  If I type the wrong thing, that's my fault, and I'll sort it out...

Still didn't find YJR, even when I told Google to JFGI...

You could get yourself a baby feed bottle from Home and bargain or suchlike store for less than a quid. It's measured off in 1oz/25ml and I've put a slightly bigger hole in the nipple attachjment. That does me for the times when I need to prime the stove.
