Dont forget Monkey as well I had a bit of a sexuality crisis with Tripitaka. Turns out he was played by a lady, which was a relief.

Oh I loved the Water Margin (I liked the man who could run faster than the wind) and Monkey. In fact, I've got the complete set of Monkey on DVD. Great stuff!

Do you remember Kung Fu? That was super as well.

I remember the Water Margin for basically seeming to be incrediably violent at about 4.30pm, when everything else on BBC at that time was just fluffy!  Great stuff, and still available on DVD if you have a look around, although (like Wagon Wheels) it just won't be the same now.

Monkey was just barking, but cool.  I had no idea at the time that it was vaguely educational (the whole Buddha to India story), but am sure that if you go into any pub, just saying 'Monkey, Piggsy' in that accent will have half a dozen blokes joining in and talking about Spangles...

I've just noticed that Amazon has the box set of the 'Flashing Blade' as well...if they had 'Why don't you' and my crush on Mary Tamm when she was in Doctor Who, they'd have my childhood in the mid 1970's. Unfortunately I've just remembered about the flares....
