The latest photo posted on the weatherline website shows an ice axe buried upto the head in snow. Waaaaaaaaah! Buggar! And damn! No good. We'll have to go back next year

A good excuse..... this could be the start of an annual Glenridding Event! (And no fire alarms were set off!!!)

On my way home I stopped at the car park at Kirkstone pass and looked longingly up at the ridge opposite the pub. After standing there for a few seconds the wind came along and I had trouble standing so muttering something under my breath I got back in the car and drove home. I almost wish I had gone for a walk with the rest of you on Sunday as it might have helped my muscles. My thighs were complaining yesterday. A combination of walking steeply down hill and having to brace myself against the wind behind me which seemed to determined to throw me down the mountain on Saturday meant that my thighs really felt the strain. A walk on Sunday might have loosened them up a little. Still there's always next year I read in the paper today that solar activity peaks in 2013 and that by 2020 we'll back in to really cold winters possibly as bad as 1963. I'm not sure I'll be walking in the lakes by then

Nice photos Karl. Think I will keep checking out your site in the future. You take nice photos for sure and I particulalry like that tent shot on the page your link above went to (your homepage?). I always like nice camp photo shots like that. Was just looking at a few photographs and vids on my galaxy S2 phone and spotted a few on my camps. One was a sneaky trip to Easdale Tarn (after a pint or so at Tweedies on the way up). It had a nice tarp shot. There is nothing better than a nice camp near a tarn or loch IMHO. The Lakes has some special ones and some have really good sunsets or sunrises too. What a good meet Glenridding 2012 was!!
