1. I click on the photo icon on my profile page that says "Click Here" to upload my photo but a BROWSER BOX does not appear. What gives?

2. WHY does it take soooo long to change pages on this site? Are all your processors from the 1990s? The tic-tock of the wait is something that is rather off-putting. Surely it's not because I'm on the other side of The Pond.

OK, my bad. The OM browser box DID appear but was hidden behind the profile page for some reason the 1st time I tried. I'll have to reduce the photo size to get it uploaded as it failed due to too big a megabyte size.

As for download speed  I think it's possibly my distance from the UK (I'm in 'Vegas, Baby) that creates the time lag. Too many nodes for the signal to pass thru get there and back in a timely manner. I'm using a cable/fiberoptic setup that is fairly fast here in the 'Vegas valley. Who knows what happens once it goes east to Merry Olde.

So maybe just one gripe

The last time I changed my avatar it took nearly two weeks to be approved.

TWO WEEKS!? (For "approval") So... there's a "Decency Committee" at OM who screens out people wearing red because its a "provocative colour" , or because someone is wearing climbing stretch pants that are too risque'?

 And here I thought we Americans were the original Puritans.

 OR - Perhaps it's because after the "Decency Committee" the photos must pass the gimlet eye of the "Pre-Approval Committee" before they get to the "Final Approval Committee".  This second scenario seems more likely.

Whatever.

Guess before attempting another upload I'll have to reduce the magapixels of my fav photo of me using a freshly dug cathole at Yosemite where I was doing a "download".

I think it goes before a pre approval committee and, assuming there is a quorum and the avatar reaches a two-thirds vote then it can go forward to the approval committee. after that there is a cooling off period and a public enquiry. Then, if you still have the will to live your avatar might appear on your posts

I've tried uploading an avatar several times, and despite it matching the image requirements it never seems to do anything. I presume there's some sort of time delay between uploading the image and it appearing on the site? I don't want to keep trying it in case I end up sending a dozen requests to someone!
