Hi folks, Huskyman and I are planning to visit the lovely Wicklow National Park the weekend of the 14th January. The Plan is too either Wild Camp or stay in a Hostel depending on snow conditions and what fellow Om'rs attending would like to do. Aerlingus and Ryanair fly to Dublin from most UK Cities and the fast ferry is only 90 minutes from Hollyhead. There is good public transport links from Dublin and if we get enough numbers we could hire a minibus. Wicklow National Park Wikipedia Dublin Wicklow MRT Any takers? Stephen & Huskyman

Glendalough looks to be the place to start from. There is a Hostel there, IIRC. Which is open all year round. Busses run to there, so not hard to get to. If you can make meet let Steven or myself know, so we can check how many beds we might need if staying in Hostel. Husky & Stephen. (Paul).

John, If you can make meet, it'll be a wild camp on the Sat. There is no point in booking into hostel for so few peeps. At that time of year, it would be advisable to bring at least MicroSpikes, if not crampons and an ice axe. May not be needed but up high Wicklow can be under snow and more than likely icey. I'll be bringing 'pons and axe just in case.
