Despite my being wrapped up against wind and rain showers during my short walk yesterday, one sturdy little blighter managed to make it's home under my watch strap Having just pulled it out, it got me to thinking, what is the latest in the year you've been victim to the dreaded tick?

I've never even seen one on someone - some people just seem to attract them.

4 day backpack last week in Torridon. Dog brought 2 home.

Couple of weeks ago - didn't find the sod til 4 days later either I can't remember getting one after about september before. There were still deer keds about 2 weeks ago as well.

I'm thinking this mild spell has a lot to answer for. I've enjoyed the long autumn but it might be time for a nice hard frost to give us a bit of respite.
I got one in my shin up at Lin of Dee last weekend

It's been very mild in Wester Ross for the last few weeks.

.jpg) Kelvin,as you say, some people tend to attract them.I achieved seventeen in a ten day trip in Sept. A walking friend of mine, walking similar routes has never ever collected one. Under a watch strap seems a favourite place.Warm and dark.! Cheers.

I usually get them behind the knee, or the crack of my arse! It was on the news a few days ago that folk up here were still getting bitten by midgies. Seemingly that has never been recorded in November before.

You can just imagine that slim-line tick sidling up to the haemorrhoids and saying - in a week I'll look just like you.
Ticks are one of the toughest creatures on earth - given your diet I presume they would need to be.

, Im buying a tick remover,
Little bastards, never been bitten thus far, and I tend to wear shorts all the time too.

Win some, lose some. Midgies don't bother me. I'm happy plucking the odd tick from my dukes, if it means the midgies stay away from me.
.jpg) Like I said Mike " warm and dark ". You'll have to excuse my ignorance, what are dukes ?. Cheers .

Boxers, I think, Waldo. MfD, 1 way of getting rid of 'piles' Save on creams No u northernshires don't like wasting money
'Dukes' = 'Duke of Argyll' is rhyming slang for a pile.
.jpg) Interesting that, where I grew up "Derbyshire", Dukes were fists,if you wanted to "argue"with someone you said "put your Dukes"up,or" show us your Dukes".It would sound a bit odd saying that in Dundee. Cheers.
