As the title says really...

I'm looking for a pair of crampons and an ice axe in decent condition.

Crampons to fit size 11/45 Berghaus Storm boots, so C1 category (flexi, with straps) please.

Ice axe suitable for a 5'11" novice winter walker.

I'm in Ireland but am in England for Christmas/New Year so could post there if that was better.

Cheers y'alll,

Pat.

 Pat,

If your boots can take them you'd be better getting C2 crampons.

Will do you for both easy ground and to around to Grade IIIish if you get into winter climbing.

Better for 'Front Pointing' on ice if you run into to much of it.

See my PM re. ice axe.

 Paul.

Yes, and if you're contemplating an 8,000 metre peak then C3 fully automatic crampons and insulated B3 boots like the Olympus Mons would be best.

Thanks lads...

As my boots are rated B0, but are generally accepted to be able to cope with C1 crampons, I think C2s will be a little too extreme for them.  The sole is just not stiff enough.

So, back to my origianal question: Anyone got some used but decent condition C1s lying around that they want to swap or some cash? Preferably with toe points...
