For Mole (404 avoidance :-) ) 12 Dec More friends of microspikes. Perhaps they should consider making Crocs with 'ickle spikes on them?

I like stabilicers. They seem more robust than Yaktraks etc although a little more bulky.

They look similar to Petzl Spikeys, which I once tried, and were great on frozen paths, but the points aren't long enough to really bite in like Microspikes.
The large area without the cleats, also tends to hold the cleats off the ground when walking on frozen stoney ground.

We (safariquip) have been stocking them since early last winter & think they're brill. Cleats stick out at right angles to each other so loads of grip, well set in so don't fall out (unlike some cheaper ones). Best of all, rubber studs so you still have grip if you have to cross the odd bit of pavement/tarmac/rock.

They've already got them at Ultralight Outdoor Gear but stress that the cleats are NOT replaceable. The OM article says otherwise. Are there two types available- one with replaceable and one with non-replaceable cleats?
