I've used mine on a Jam, Haglofs LIM55 and an old Alpiniste 45+10 to name but 3.

You need a hipbelt or it'll just flap around. Unless you're thinking of having the bottom two attachment points on the lower bit of the shoulder straps?

The bottom elastic straps have hooks on the end, could attach to belt loops on trousers, pocket corners on a jacket. I'm sure you could find something.
