Was wondering if anyone has any info on retailers selling the National Parks 25k OS Discoverer maps for Garmin at a decent discount? F&T/SD used to do them at £65 but have no stock.

Failing that a bit of digging has discovered Garmin BirdsEye where you can select the 25k map area of your choice and pay based on the size of the map you want. Has anyone done this? is it any good? can't seem to confirm if it works on a Colorado!

Garmin reckon there the best thing since sliced bread reckon everyone in the UK should use them They have no idea about anyone doing them at below RRP (they did mumble something about 'the bast'rds!)

Anyway, I've been made aware of a possible avenue forward.

You can get Memory maps National parks for £27 at Go Outdoors but only in 1-50k. I find this ok for the walking i do throughout the UK.

Andy thanks for the info.... i already have 1:50k but its pretty well useless for navigating on places like Dartmoor. I do have use a map but like having a GPS as well.

I use Garmin BirdsEye Select (1:25 OS Maps) on my Garmin Colorado. It costs £20 a year and for that you get 600 square km of map area to download. You cant download the whole 600km in one go (I tried), what I do is plot a route on Memory Map (or any similar program or website), save it as a GPX file then put it onto Garmins Basecamp software. You then put a box around it and then download that area of 25k map onto your GPS. It takes the area of the map off your 600km credit.  I love it, just renewed my subsciption. I still had over 100km or credit left after a year (unfortunatly you cant carry it over).
