Mine has had a falling out with mother nature and is beyond repair, so looking for a replacement. There were loads on ebay a few months ago, and now nowhere seems to have them.
I don`t want to post an extern link here, because I don`t know, if this is allowed here. But I know a shop in Germany, where I live, where you can buy / order the MH sprite 1 for 119 Euros. May be you send me a PM, then I can post the link.
shipping to Great Britain at the shop I mean costs 15 Euros to Great Britain, so in total the tent (new with tags) incl. shipping would cost 134 Euros.
I've just seen that Cotswold Outdoors in the UK have them at a very reduced price. With my Leader discount I can get it for £95 unless anyone is trying to get rid of one still?
Just quick question u clearly rate the sprite 1 if u want another one but is the groundsheet attached waterproof as ur meant to by a serperate one for it?
I know someone who had one. It is a tad breezy in it. Something to do with the high gap around the bottom of the fly and the mesh inners. Rains in sometimes with the wind. Also one for smaller people. Good tent though.
With all MHW Tents it's always advisable to buy the Footprint, and I have it for this. You can use it without the footprint, and I have, and it is waterproof due to the "bathtub design". But the bottom gets racked with mud and its hard to dry it off before packing up to continue on the trail. I've never really had an issue with getting wet inside, even with the high winds.
With the pitchlight configuration you can easily get 2 people in it, which is why I like it. Also, it's more than easily carried by myself on a trek, and the vestuble is generous to keep kit in and cook.
So to answer your question, it is waterproof, but buying the footprint gives you greater flexibility and makes a more comfortable experience.
