Hi all just wanted to introduce myself and feel that I have been looking for a site like this forever!
I am a bit of a gadget nerd and always have a desire to get the newest piece of kit on the Market.
I have always been into backpacking but until recently would normally be seen with either a MAXPEDITION Sitka on my back for short day hikes or a camelbak Motherload for overnighters. I had never heard or paid much attention to the likes of go-lite or OMM and happened to chance upon the whole ultrallight philosophy when I was considering replacing my jetboil flash with the sol ti.
I have since bought my self a go-lite peak and my day pack weight with food excluding water is now just under 2kg which is quite anexperience from lugging my old bag around.
I still need to get myself a good lightweight 2 man tent - it would only be for me but I can't abide sleeping in 1 man tents - I currently have a vango banshee 300 which tips the scales at 2600g and am looking to change this for a vango superlite which I believe is around the 1100g mark.
Next item I'm going to change is my Nanok comfort down sleeping bag 1600g for a more compact, lighter bag ideally would love to get one of the Yeti bags but they are so expensive.
Just a quick heads up for anyone that's after a very good lightweight torch I recently bought a new AAA torch that puts out 96lumen on high for about 50mins, it does have 2 other settings that would extend battery life albeit at a lower lumen output. I got the torch from ledfire and its the ITP A3 EOS R5 model and costs about £23 shipped.
http://www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/itp-a3-eos-upgraded-r5-black.htmlI don't work for ledfire but was very impressed with the torch so thought I would share.
I've put a few items up on the classified section so if you get chance have a look as you can see from the above I've an addiction to fund.
Thanks
Steve
