One for the gram weenies ...

I've just been messing around with some stovey stuff and thought I'd have a go at lightweight coffee cup. Nothing fancy just a bit of recycling.

Some pics ...

Pepsi fridge size 250ml can, reflectix cosy (24x6.5cm strip)

The top can be removed neatly leaving a thick smooth ring for drinking, a can opener at roughly 45 degrees works well

Compact and surprisingly quite strong, it must be because of the short height

Nestled inside the MSR titanium cup for scale

A weigh off then, first up the £25 MSR titanium mug (with no insulative benefits)

250ml isn't the biggest of brews but it'll stay hot, slip the cosy off and you can pop it onto an alky stove.

Our can opener cutting blade is angled at 45* to the toothed wheel, if I set the opener at 45* again it means the blade cuts vertically down into the can.

More by luck than management

Can't stick it on a stove but it's tougher than a poly cup - pot noodle container.  Holds 450ml @ 20g.  If you use a Caldera Cone it acts as a protector.  I get cone, fuel, syringe, folding spoon, pan grip & lighter in mine.

That's a neat idea for the CC, I keep meaning to wrap it round a mat or sleeping bag but I'm scared of tearing a dry bag. I do like my CC but the bulk does my head in a bit.

I'll have to stick a pot nasty on the shopping list and give it a go though, cheers for the tip

I'm just unpacking my gear so here's some pics. My cone is for the AGG 3cup pan as I know some cones are different sizes.  I stick it all in a stuffsac to stop stuf dropping out.  They are pretty sturdy.  I'm on my 2nd one in 3 years.  I stood on the first one!
