I am getting some new/better kit together for this years car camping trips and need some advice please.
I have just bought a ME Helium 3.8 for £45 that looks to be good value. The trouble is, I an quite a light sleeper and tend to move around quite a bit, so I'm not sure if it's going to be wide enough. I have seen the Alpkit wideboy that looks as if it might do the trick, but not sure.
Up til now I have been using a standard inflatable air bed, but I want to down size and have something that's less of a faff.
I am a back sleeper and most normal sleeping mts are too narrow for me, that is until I found out about the Exped Down/Syn DLX mats (now known as LW). They are longer and wider than other mats and my down mat dlx 7 has given me the best night's sleep in a tent that I've ever had. Not cheap though.
I`m a "broad" lad and move a hell of a lot in my sleep. The thermarest neoair in Large is the perfect solution. It`s longer and wider than all other size neoairs, it`s very thick and comfy so you`ll have no problems side sleeping too
Car camping? Flock(ing) air mattress. 12V pump from the lighter socket. The most expensive backpacking mat out there doesn't come close to a £10.99 Argos airbed
If you're car camping you have the option of using a camp bed; I find them more comfortable than an airbed. The ones with sprung legs costing about £10 -£12 will fit in most tents.
