Hey all, I'm after some ideas for music that gets you into the mountain mood. I'm making a playlist on spotify which I can now play in my car (highly recomended by the way), and want to make a playlist for a mountain trip next weekend. I've started with a good few but thought it would make an interesting thread on here. So, what songs would you like to hear on the way to the mountains?

Caesars (Swedish indie rock band) Paper Tigers track 2 - "It's not the hurt that falls, it's when you hit the ground" ;-) Or more optimistically, Strauss Alpensinfonie

Splendid Isolation by Warren Zevon. For any number of reasons, but the title works for hills.

North of the border, it has to be Land of the Mountain and Flood by Hamish McCunn.

Something from Palestrina or Tallis, at least when you are driving through the mountains. Higher Ground, Stevie Wonder Pete.

Anything from Capercaillie. Although some of the songs are sung in Gaelic, i don't think you need to understand it to appreciate Karens voice.

Agree with the above. Also, Crowded House ('always take the weather with you') is a fave of ours.
