what are the wildcamping opportunties like at Llyn y Fan Fach? 

Never been walking that side of the BBNP - planning a backpacking trip out there with a mate in Feb.

Or maybe camp at Carreg yr Ogof?)

Carreg yr Ogof is more away from people

Llyn y fan fach is ok but more likely to see people. Of the two lakes, Llyn y fan fawr is better for wildcamping by the way... 

There is the bothy at Llyn y fan fach if it is a hoolie. If I had to choose between ogof and fan fach I would head for Carreg yr Ogof

If you are definitely fussed on being near to Llyn y fan fach there is some decent camping a little further round to the east and higher up (half way to fan foel)

more likely it'll be Carreg yr Ogof then - the other Lyn is too near the end/start of my route

there's limestone "terracing" on Carreg yr Ogof although its a mixture of dry and boggy around there so be flexible when sussing out your camp for the night.
