I recently bought the Latok trek, and am very impressed with it, very light, comfy and a great deal.
A 3-in-1 or insulated jacket like the triclimate will often be too hot when you're hiking, and myself, I normally only wear a base layer (not cotton) and a waterproof in the rain, a mid-layer as well is often too hot, but when it's not raining can be necessary in the cold, or at breaks (at which point extra insulation can also be necessary).

The Rab jacket is a good choice - as it's event it can be quite fragile so make sure to keep it clean (but use Nikwax or Grangers style cleaning soaps, not normal detergent).

Just how fragile is Event?  I fancy a jacket for the summer as my Cioch is a bit warm and the Latok seems to tick all the boxes.

I have read that some of the colours have a different weave.  Can anyone explain the difference and which, if any is the most robust?

The event in this jacket is quite light but still seems strong - it will last well but probably wouldn't be good for climbing where it is likely to rub more on sharp rocks. For walking it would be excellent, as it doesn't take up too much room in a bag, but delivers great weatherproofness.

It is more fragile than Gore-Tex because it lacks a PU coating IIRC that would make it more resistant to dirt, including oils from your skin. For this reason, it needs to be washed a bit more often in a liquid soap. Lots of information about this online.

The different colours do have different weaves although I think that someone said on here that it doesn't affect the strength of the jacket. Beluga and DarkShark seem to be quite robust.
