Hi folks.

Anyone been up any of the welsh 3000s this last week?   Whats it looking like / weather, visibility etc.

Going fo an overnighter tomorrow night, aiming to camp above devil's kitchen.

 Cheers

t.

Hi Tim,

Have you checked the forecast for Snowdonia on the Met Office website? It's not looking too brilliant for Sunday. You might also want to take a look at some of the Snowdonia web cams before you head off.

They were looking pretty white from Siabod today!! Quite a depth of snow on Siabod as well the higher up you got.

Great times - cheers everyone - visibility was amazing as you can see from the pics. Great climb up Devil's Kitchen.

Tim, What was the snow/ice like?

I am considering driving up there tonight to do a route tommorrow. Quite fancy doing the horseshoe.

Hey. It's not too bad. I'd set off early before the sun has had chance to loosen the snow too much. I had very little touble with ice (apart from in the carpark!).

I imagine it might be a bit trixier up on Crib Goch.  Ice axe was really rather helpful.

Thanks.

Didnt go in the end as its a 5 hour drive each way and was going to have to go up on my own.

Judging by the met office website, 35mph winds would of been fun to deal with

40 mins!? I would be out there every week! Bournemouth is far too flat!

Luckily I can take work off at no notice so some better planning and hopefully some more snow this year and I will head up. Want to get the crampons and ice axe out

I usually do go out every week. I moved here in may & I've done the 3000s about 6 times since. GREAT place to live.

3 Hour trek for me, wish I was closer but mustn't complain as its a very scenic drive. Kreig, I usually go alone, I prefer my own company.
