Now that Chrome has overtaken Firefox's market share is it not time that Magicalia sorted out the website?
Come on, standard website code should be compatible with all modern browsers.

it's not even compatible with internet explorer...

Vpoor isn't it, I mean who still uses IE these days. It would be nice to be able to quote and link properly with Chrome.

who uses IE? probably every person that looks at this from work. and the majority of users who don't use a different browser because they don't know one exists. and if they do don't want the bother of having to learn how to use somethign different all because a web site can't get its act together. i can quote and link with IE...at last

Hi guys, which bits of the site are you having issues with?
We know about the forum WYSIWYG editor not working with Chrome and Safari - this has been sorted in later versions of our forum code, however we haven't updated OM to this version yet. We're looking to do this very soon though, so thanks for being patient.

It is mostly the reply box not working properly, lack of emoticons and problems with embedding .img files into the editor, Dave. Nice to know an update is on the way though. Thanks for that.

Yep the Javascript hardly works at all under Chrome. Dave; not sure if related but images put in posts don't go to the Gallery (but I only flagged that up two years ago so take your time )

OM isn't the only website to not work properly with Chrome - quite a few others seem to show a few problems. I'm using Firefox and don't have a problem, but I like the speed and simplicity of Chrome.

 Nor opera.
Strange, the site works pretty good on Opera Mini on my phone...
|
 |
Is Chrome now bug free & working with all current standards? No one told me.

It does quite well on miy phone, but the desktop is a bit eccentric.
Smilies, quotes and pictures work, but not links. Mind you, the touchscreen did mean that I put Paddy Dillon on ignore by accident, and didn't realise...

Works fine on my Linux Opera system, or should I say I don't know if anything is missing/not working

The chat boxes on news stories seems to have all the proper controls showing for Chrome now, but the forum ones still don't.
It would also be great if there was a mobile specific version of the forums, whereby everything is formatted to fit on a mobile browser screen very well. Here's an example of a forum that does that:
http://www.forum.org/forum/index.php?act=idx
(Sorry that most of that website is actually in Chinese, it's the only site I could think of off the top of my head. But it does show a forum can be formatted very nicely for a mobile screen, no need to zoom in or zoom).

If you'd like to know what bits don't work I'd suggest you install Chrome and try the site for yourself. You could try quoting this message in the Chrome browser to start with the debugging task...
