Just going from what I briefly saw from Hathersage station this.
But certainly nothing at valley level (so a lot less than last year!) -iIn fact one of edges (millstone) seemed pretty well clear - with some on the tops. Maybe quite a bit on Kinder, but think skiing might well be optimistic
I got this 'snow report' from my nordic ski club at 9:45 this morning, via "our man in the Peaks" - he lives in Castleton, commutes to Alderley Edge, and skis whenever possible along the way!
"You might like to know that there’s still snow on the higher ground in the Peak District. Places I’ve skied this week include the Cat and Fiddle, Axe Edge Moor, Shining Tor and Rushup Edge. These places are all still good for skiing at the moment."
Hope that helps...
(Btw, it's possible that he's stringing together linked ribbons and patches of snow here rather than skiing where he wants across a snowy white wilderness! )
Simon, the top photo was from Lords Seat (on Rushup Edge) looking towards Mam Tor so the white tops in the distance would be around Derwent Edge and Hathersage Edge.
