That's a shame Jon. I was going to offer you an exclusive. The material has great stretch and recovery properties - it just has to be experienced. I'll see if Cameron wants to try them out instead.

That's exactly the kind of material I've been searching for for years. Well done Berghaus - no more high-pitched voices...

Hmmm... I heard rumours that Arc'Teryx are working on a radical solution to the whole Viagra problem using revolutionary softshell materials allied to three-dimensional welding techniques and radical ergonomic cut. I always wondered why your voice was so squeaky Cam, guess I just had you down as a compulsive helium user.

I was on an easy trek in Bhutan a few years ago and we had an American in the group who was completely new to walking. He hadn't even broken in the boots he was wearing before coming on the trek!

Anyway to help cope with the altitude he was taking Diamox. The recommended dosage is one a day. He was taking 2. On the third night of our trek he was wandering around the campsite at 1 in the morning, allegedly 'delirious' and incoherent. I'm not sure if this was caused by the altitude, the overdosing or his profession. Clinical psychologist.

So as a cautionary tale I'd suggest that you don't O.D. on Diamox.

On the fourth morning he and 3 other Americans who were equally unprepared for the 'rigours' of easy hilltrekking had to go down, whilst the remaining four of us went on. We were obliged to make up for lost time and complete the scehduled next two days, in one, which we did quite easily.

Just as well this guy hadn't been taking Viagra I suppose.

See what I miss while I'm away? I've searched high and low to find this research paper, to no avail. I wonder if it was quoted in the wee leaflet I assume is included in the box when you buy 'em… ?!?!?!

More importantly John, is which did Cameron choose, and will he be admitting it in the pages of TGO?

As regards to using Diamox and Viagra, my brother and i did a build up course of Vitamin E before our trip to do Island Peak in Nepal in 1997 and found it helped us handle the altitude with no real ill effects.
This was our fourth trip out there and had experienced AS before and its not very pleasant.
I used Diamox once to help me control my breathing and it did help.

Any old excuse!

But seriously,

Disadvantage:
Be careful in case that yak grazing outside suddenly becomes very windswept and interesting.

Advantage:
The ice axe arrest becomes less challenging after a slip!

If your worried about the effects of Viagra try using Ginkho Biloba extract - it opens the small blood vessels without the increased interest in sheep or yaks

Considering he raised what? Without the help of viagra?
I have to report that on my recent visit to Nepal I didn't have to use diamox, or viagra. I cope fairly well with altitude and we only went to about 18500 feet. Didn't feel the need to take diamox. As far as viagra is concerned I'm afraid the opportunity never arose - if you'll pardon the pun...
