One of the poles on my Mountain Hradware trango 2 seems to be missing one of the end metal bits that clips into the gromet on the groundsheet. Unfortunately i found this out in the dark on sat night so had to do a bodge job. does anyone know where i can get a new pole or a contact for mountain hardware for a repair. It seems to have just dropped off the end and is no-where to be seen. Its only 3 years old so i'm not too impressed and the groundsheet is leaking as well (water coming straight through) so looks like i also need to get a footprint. Any contacts or ideas greatfully received

Just brought a trango 4 tent a week ago, and used it once in snowdonia and both front and rear poles split , i was not very impressed with the tent considering it say's it's been to everest it didn't even survive snowdownia with a bit of rain.

just like to thank cotswolds for trying to repair my pole, and ellis bringham shop in capel curig for lending me a pole sleave for the second pole that broke.

Let's just say the tent went back to the shop and exchanged it for a north face tent instead

I have a trango 3.1.

I have been disappointed with the tent from the start. Tent is fiddley to pitch the flysheet looks like an after thought and rarely looks like it’s pitched properly. The flysheet is very floppy when wet, when I tensioned the flysheet I came back after a day on the hill to find a tear due to the tension. I carried out a field repair then a proper repair at home. I also find that moisture seeps through the groundsheet so had to buy a footprint which improved the situation, but in wet weather the water still seeps through.

Since then the flysheet has torn again with a large L shaped tear and the tent has started to leak, water running down the hooks on the inside then water dripping though the inner.

Two years ago in Cham we had a lot of rain, water was pooling up inside the tent getting my down sleeping bag and gear wet, not what you expect from a mountain tent. My mate’s £40 Argos tent seamed to fair better.

Last year I reproofed and resealed the seams on both the fly and groundsheet paying attention to the nylon tags on the hooks I have been in the tent for the last couple of weeks only to find the tent leaking again in a minor downpour, The last straw.

A 4 season mountain tent??? Now looking at a Hilliburg or Terra Nova. I have friends with Quasars which have lasted a good 10 years and no problems.

Gary
