I am walking a section of the GR5 the first 2 weeks in July next year and would like to know if any one has info on buses to Les Houches or trains I believe they go to St Gervais Les Bains, and which they consider is the best form of transport to take.

I believe the bus is better than the train and it is advisable to book, but you can get much more info here:

Hi Helen

We have used GAT Geneva airport transfers for our ski and summer trips from Geneva to Chamonix and Morzine. I think they are also running services to St G as well.

We had a large group of 6 people and they quoted us prices of about €30 euros pp each way I think.
