Firstly I really enjoyed the article.
Except I think what you really describe in the article is the Adventure Package holiday.

I applaud the main point of choosing an ethical company.

The list of Tour operators and lets face it "adventure travel company" is just a fancy name for one, was handy.
But when you cross reference that list with the results from the Holiday Which? Which tour operator 2005 Survey only Exodus comes in the top 10.
Now I appreciate that the Which reader is possibly a different type than a TGO reader in what they look for in a holiday etc. So how about a similar thing being done for "adventure travel companies" only by TGO? And Which didn't really touch on the Eco/PC side of the tour operators in their article, so plenty of room to be more in depth there I think.

It would of also been nice, and I appreciate the limited space you have, in giving the pro's and cons for a organising your own Adventure holiday compared to the tour operator route. Holiday Which? also covered this, this month. And in half of the comparisons they made where able to save money compared to the tour operator price.

Enjoyed the article too, in what is an excellent issue all round, best one for a while. Even the back page advert was a photo worth looking at! 130 pages too - keep it up! And good to see all the maps for the Breakout articles were correct this month! Since your redesign a few front covers have been simply mountainscapes - is this a new policy to avoid looking like too much like Trail?! I would always prefer covers which show a recognisable view or panorama, and that was generally the case until perhaps four or five years ago? I always remember some years ago both High and Climber & Rambler had exactly the same cover pic on the same month's issue!!

I enjoyed the real "Adventure Travel" in this month's issue.

In other words, Jim Perrin's wonderful piece on the Aran and Mick Tighe's all-too-short article on the Dalton brothers.

What I especially like about Jim's tgo pieces is that his mountains are peopled, and full of history, bringing them to life in a way that less knowledgeable (and frankly, less good) writers cannot.

I often wonder about the people that have been there before me in the hills - the navvies at Ribblehead; Bentley Beetham in Borrowdale; the Romans in the Usk Valley. It would be good to see more articles in the vein of the Dalton piece.

All round, the last two issues have been a lot more readable and interesting than tgo has been for quite a while - more of the same, please.
