high st kensington, the only london millets, didn't have any (for any shoppers there is also a snow n rock, ellis brigham and blacks all within 50 metres of each other)
did pick up adventure trousers and my fave t shirt a ps coolmax for a tenner apiece so the trip wasn't entirely wasted.
nearly got a pakjack. an unusual blast of common sense overwhelmed me with the you've already got 15 jackets!

I don't know what they're like but outdoormania have got the Craghoppers Contour softshells for 47.99 at the moment. Has anyone seen one in the 'flesh'?
|
 |
Nope just looked in Bath Millets and they have some womens softshells PS ones and some Berghaus ones at £100 odd quid
Nearly purchased a nice looking microfleece top!
M&S have a softshell in their ski range and have something that purports to be one in ther Blue harbour range!

Noticed This in M&S today! Also is this similar to the PS One?

I saw the Blue Harbour thing at the weekend. It's a woven-faced fleece, really. Didn't take too close a look.
Hard to tell what the Mtn W'house thing is like, but the thick rolled seams suggest it's also a woven-faced fleece, so not like the PS SS as far as fabric goes. The pockets look well-placed.

Hmm I think my folks are wanting a trip to Street this w/end so I'll have a look and see if there's a regatta one and also have gander at the Mntn warehouse down there i'll report back

Sorry Been busy with work! (I know its a pain when it gets in the way of OM)
Anyway The Mntn Warehouse softshell (see link above) is strech outer with microfleece lining.
Didn't find the regatta one.
But did notice a nice Schoeller one in Tog 24 (a snip at £124 ;),)that was like the Mntn warehouse one but a lot more expensive!
Called into M&S on a whim and discovered they had one of their Ski Soft shells left (schoeller type fabric with microfleece lining) but only had Medium which didn't fit! Cost £49 but no further stock available for it. So guess they may not be doing it anymore.
The blue harbour softshell thing is a fleece with a nylon type outer to it.

If I bag any PS soft shells I see, would anyone be interested? I could venture back to Guildford at the weekend (I'd ring to check availability first, as it would be two weeks on). Should have thought of that at the time, but then I've not had much luck with that approach recently...
Proxy kitmonstering, and all that...

If your near abmble side and after a cheap softshell try the regatta format one from gaynors.co.uk £30 they are a steal ;o)
|
 |
what sort of fabric is it? Haven't managed to find one in the flesh (the regatta one that is)
|
 |
The link to the item on the regatta site is http://www.regatta.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?465
and on gaynors its http://www.gaynors.co.uk/shop/36/41/299/index.htm
i cant remember the exact material makeup, ill check wheni get im from work, but so far its had plenty of use and i cant fault it.
mine looks slightly different as it is black with a grey band across the chest area

Regatta jacket looks interesting. Probably the most important question: does it have a membrane? (easiest way to determine is: can you blow through the fabric or not?)
|
 |
well its definately windproof and water repellant, it also dries very quickly.
