At the risk of antagonising tgo-less Darrren still further, I feel that I must bring a serious misprint in the March edition of tgo to your attention:

On page 6, a letter about Jeremy Clarkson has been given the title "disgraceful stunt" - luckily, the appropriate (and I am sure) intended description of said tubby motoring journalist will be obvious to the majority of readers.

It is a weirdity and I've just raised your prob with marketing. Apparently what we call "specialist retailers" such as Cotswold are sent copies at rougly the same time the subscribers' copies are sent out. General retail supplies - ie WHSmith, etc - go out a couple of days later (the offical on-sale date for the issue under discussion is tomorrow, Thursday). Our marketing lasses reckon there's frequently a problem with the post which might be causing the delay at your end; subscription copies have already been mailed out (from a separate mailing house – they go out before we even get copies in the office) and if it's not waiting for you at home already today then it should be with you tomorrow.

But whey they got into specialist retailers so early is baffling… in fact they'd've only arrived at the distributor on Monday…

This is beginning to sound like something from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy… sorry!

I don't know if it helps explain the mystery, but the copy I picked up from Cotswold is printed on a lower grade of paper than usual - I did a bit of a double-take before I realised it was the new issue.

They had a pile of them on the counter.

Don't normally have a problem with the post down here in tropical Farnborough. My nan often posts comics for Nathan from the wilds of the fens (where they have just got electrickery), and it arrives via carrier pigeon the next day.

I'm off to my office/fortress of solitude to read the latest issue then. I maybe sometime....
