 TTG, mine has been shipped but it's a Bank Holiday here in N.I. (St Patricks Day) so should arrive tomorrow. You've made me impatient now that you've got yours, bet you can't wait to try it  What does the fabric at the foot feel like, do you think it'll cope with brushing against the inside of a single skin tent? I wouldn't worry too much about the fabric, I can see the down through the shell of my ME Xero 250.

It has a kind of almost rubbery feel to the coating on the foot and head or rather shoulder end. It feels like a light weight PU coating IMHO. I reckon it will cope with a bit. The Pertex label that came with it says it is water resistant and has a HH of 1000mm. Technically waterproof I think but only just. You will be able to force water through it if your foot is resting in a puddle I reckon but better than normal pertex. I will be using it in a single skin tent weekend after this one coming all being well. A Force10 Vitesse. Which tent do you use? A Shangri-la? I will let you know unless you use your bag before then. I don't know anyone who has a quilt so I am curious how warm they can be. The loft does not look that thick considering its rated to -7C. That must be an extreme rating not the comfort rating. What did you get? Let me know if yours feels like it will be as warm as the rating says.

 Most folk agree the rating on the Golite Ultra 20 is about 0C. Pertex Endurance is excellent. I've woke up with the foot of my Rab QE230 on wet ground, and it never soaked through. Quilts are the biz.

.JPG) TTG I have an Ultra 20 - I'd freeze if I took it to -7 - have been comfy in a light frost (+3C?) in a single skin tent wearing my primaloft jacket and clothes too -on a TAR the latest Golite quilts have been re- rated - the equivalent in weight /down fill to the ultra 20 (-7C) is now called a 1+ season quilt (now rated +4C!) and the '3 season quilt' is rated -7C but weighs just over 700g thread here

TTG, same weekend as me then but I doubt if I'll take the Adrenaline 0 as it would be too warm. My tent is the fly of my Phreeranger. Mike, good to know although I suppose I'd be using my Phreeranger with the inner if I was using the Adrenaline 0. TBH I don't exactly know when I'll get to try it, I looked at them for 6 months or more so was kinda hooked when the price was down to £150.

Cheers on the quilt info. I doubt I would really use it in anything colder than the nights we are getting now. Perhaps about 4C minimum. Any conditions that I think could be less I'll take my current full bag a marmot fusion 30. which is a full -2C comfort temp. I've used it at that inside a mates house that had no heating in a cold winter so I know it can cope but the quilt is another thing, bought for spring, summer and into autumn. It will be my most used bag I reckon. Although kipping on people's floors or in bunkhouses or camping barns from a car its a proper full bag for me. I reckon the quilt with a silk liner and a TAR prolite 3 should be a good combination. I reckon I can get away without my bivvy bag in the single skin now with the pertex type on the foot. I'll still use a bivvy with the tarp though. Mind you I am thinking of not taking a bag at all with my bivvy bag and tarp in late spring / summer. I'm doing a 75 miler over three days some time in summer and I don't thhink I'll take the sleeping bag on that, a Rab SZ and a silk liner with my clothes on should be enough. it was a good tip the golite offers wasn't it.

I couldn't actually afford to buy anything. I was contemplating a Jam or a Pinnacle, but they sold out before I could click, so I thought I should let everyone know about the other stuff.
I'd be interesting to see how you get on with that quilt though, especially in a Bivvy. The Golite seem to represent good value over the other American quilts, but I have been worried about the DWR on the rest of the quilt rather than just the Endurance patches, particularly as I'd be thinking about using it on multiday and long distance trips.

 Hi folks, Campsaver.com in the US have some very good Montbell stuff dead cheap, its in the US but at those prices its worth the postage and possible customs bills. I got some stuff off them last year and service was very good. Cheers, Stephen
