I bought an Ultimate Hoola 2 in the mid-eighties,this tent was without fault and in fact when i sold it on in 2004,i got almost as much as i paid for it originally!.It was that well made that with a little care it stayed looking like new.I can well remember being out in a wet and wild gale in the Lakes years ago, apart from my tent the only other still standing was a Vango force ten.I couldn't but help feeling a little smug about this,i may not have had the room and luxury of the fancy frame tents on the site but at least i wasn't sitting in a car looking out at a pile of wet canvas and twisted and bent poles!!,with nowhere to run to.I mourn the loss of this great company because i also had an Ultimate mountain King sleeping bag, which was equally as good in it's performance.I now own  the aforementioned Vango Force Ten mkIII STD.I have been told by the shop that i bought it off that my Vango is one of the last 'scots made' ones and that the newer ones are made in China and not as good. Can anyone shed any light on whether or not this is true?.
