Congratulations to Guy and his team at Trail for winning the PPA gong in London. It's great to see a magazine that promotes hill walking getting national recognition over the likes of Top Gear and NME. Well done mate...

Here's the (edited as OM threads havee a character limit) story (from the PPA website):

The winners of the 25th PPA editorial and publishing excellence awards, sponsored by Royal Mail, were announced last night with Emap’s Closer, Haymarket’s Marketing and Food Manufacture by William Reed scooping the top prizes in their respective fields.
Closer was named the winner in the COMAG Consumer magazine of the year category, not only for its commercial success in moving into profit in under two years, but also for “breaking scoops, a modern and fresh look, cheerful outlook and redefinition of the women’s weeklies market” according to the judges.
It was a good night for Emap all round as Mark Elliot was named WH Smith News Consumer publisher of the year, Trail named BJP consumer specialist magazine of the year, Motorcycle news named GalleonCI interactive consumer magazine of the year, FHM named MMC International consumer magazine of the year, and Andy Thomas of Car magazine taking the award in the NJP consumer designer of the year category.
The much sought after title of Menzies Distribution Consumer editor of the year was awarded to Conor McNicholas for IPC’s NME who was praised by the judges for his “personal commitment to the brand’s commercial success.”
In the business and professional sector the judges praised DHL Weekly business and professional magazine of the year Marketing for a successful format change from A3 to A4, “a clear plan that hit the mark effectively.”
The winner of the Stones the Printers Monthly business and professional magazine of the year was Food Manufacture by William Reed Publishing, the judges commented on its “reader-led relaunch leading to an impressive performance in a difficult market”. Media Week’s Dave McCullough was named Atelier designer of the year for his work on the Quantum title’s full-scale relaunch.

PPA means port passengers alight and BJP is a faction of the Taliban fighting for compulsory razor burning.

The PPA is the Periodical Publishers' Association, I have no idea about BJP, so they can't be very important ;-)
