Please note that Map and Compass are selling old editions, e.g. OL1 (Dark Peak) from 2006. This was superseded by a 2009 edition which is available from Amazon for £1.40 less - Active laminated version.
I have done loads of research and Amazon are unbeatable on both price and stocking up to date editions. OS's own shop is OK too, but only if you need 3 maps, or multiples thereof, and can take advantage of their 3 for 2 offer.
I'm sorry if you received an older version of the OL1 Map. I have just checked the OL1 maps that I now have in stock, and they're all 2009.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm always available, and would be happy to resolve any concerns that customers have with items purchased on the site.
The feedback from my customers is great at the moment, so hopefully I'm offering a personal service that they'll continue to prefer to Amazon.
I just checked Map And Compass website - Sat. 13th - and the OL1 pictured is the 2006 version, and the listing also identifies it as such. Perhaps you need to update your listings?
The fact remains that you are still £1.40 more expensive, per map, than Amazon. I accept that there is a personal service element with say, clothing or boots, but maps? An OS map is an OS map; I just buy on price.
Thanks James - I just hadn't noticed this. I'll get onto my site manager when I've got through my current pile of paperwork to get these listings updated.
