I've been surprised how few comments there have been on the Movers and Shakers article last month, particularly since quite a few of the names didn't mean much to me or people I've shown it to. However there is now a gap in the published list since Fay Godwin has recently passed away. Can readers nominate their preference? I know he's not a walker as such, but John Grimshaw in charge of Sustrans has done more than most in recent years to encourage and get people actively outdoors. And most people who cycle end up moving and shaking.

Well I'd have thought that Chris T would have to be fairly high up the list of notable omissions.

Indeed. In fact, they've recently returned from Cyprus and are a lovely shade of brown :o)

Quite. :o)

Avon after-sun is lovely stuff btw. Wonder if it repels midgies?

That's because it's a big yawn. Is anybody really interested?

Just a wee update; Avon after-sun DOES seem to keep midgies from biting. However, I've run out as of this morning and have switched to B**ts own brand.

I'll let you know how I get on when I take the dogs out tonight.

Off outside now to top up my tan.

Carry on. As you were.

Too breezy for midgies on Friday night but perfect conditions yesterday. Was out galumphing around the Ochils and stopped for lunch in my usual spot. The little f***ers were on me in seconds. Given that I've never ever been bothered by them up there before, I can only conclude that B**ts own-brand actually ATTRACTS them.

Tan's still looking good tho'.
