Hello, I am looking at buying a Khyam tent, I want one that I can use for weekends but also for maybe two weeks in Cornwall, my dilemma is that I will be travelling alone with a small child so I ned to be able to put the tent up on my own with a relative amount of ease, but I also want a resonable amount of space, anybody own a Khyam, any advice will be greatly received, ta Rita

I have owned a kyham trooper 2 since the mid 90s and have found it excellent.Travelled mainly in europe and the ease of erection and stability are good for touring. It has an umbrella type mechanism for the main poles so the main poles are up in about 30 seconds...however if its cold the plastic joints can be very difficult to engage properly and on my model you need to be reasonable tall to access the umbrella mechanism, fine for me at 6 foot but not so good for my wife who use to struggle a little. Kyhams also always (?) come with a tube of sealant for the seams which has always been a point of controversy. If you visit www.ukcampsite.co.uk you will find very long threads on kyham tents.

Hi, good choice of tent, i use a khyam ridgi pod wich is a bit large for just 2 but can recommend the khyam tourer 200 which can be pup up in about 10 min's,very strong in bad weather, loads of space and you can use a 2 or 4 berth inner

Hi, thanx for the messages, I am thinking maybe the Khyam tourer 400, my daughter has an illness so I need plenty of room for medical supplies, do you think I would manage to erect this tent on my own? I am only 5ft 3" but a very independent and capable person!! ta Rita

Hi Rita, about 15 - 20 min 's to get tent and beds set up, but a little longer to peg out but it can be set up on your own no problem
only down side.... khyam tents are a bit on the large side when packed(but worth it)

Hello, Can anyone tell about the Kyham Trooper 2 tent ... please tell me the dimensions... I understand it is 14ft long x 8ft wide but how large is the sleeping area? Also my husband is 6ft 1"... will it be comfortable/suitable for him to be able stand up inside? thank you

We have the Khyam XXL classic, Its quite easy to set up and very roomy. A ground sheet is a must though.

As I mentioned above ive had a trooper 2 since the mid 90s,good tent.Inner tent dimensions are fine for sleeping, about the size of a big double bed. Youre husband will have to stoop while in the tent he wont be able to stand upright while moving about the tent.
