Actually, not quite. I recall that they had a production facility in France at one point. I'm sure I've got one piece of Patagonia that says 'fabrique en France'. Or was it Lowe Alpine... Damn, looks like another field is required in the kit database...
It's not MilletS, but Millet (roughly pron. Mi-yeh), a French lot. Have a look at the links I posted on the previous page; they're likely candidates until Judy comes back with the real identity.
Of course, you _could_ buy the famous Peter Storm Soft Shell jacket (search for threads passim), but it would fail Judy's sensible test of pocket placement.
What an idiot. I can't believe I said Patagonia was French. I'm so used to liaising with their marketing guy in Annecy, and at the Chamonix store, that I had a bit of a Friday moment... Capn P is right, Millet is definitely not Millets. It's getting easier to find in the UK and their women's stuff is sensational. This soft shell is made from Polartec's Powershield which has a perforated membrane; it's about the only membrane fabric I've used that breathes enough. More details in the main soft shell jacket test. Anyway, having been awake all night sweating over my Patagonia/French fiasco, I'm off for some fresh air! Oh - and the groovy colour is a really wicked, warm red.
So what is this mystery soft shell then (i.e. what do Millet call it)? The only soft shells I could find in Millet's Summer 2005 range were the links I posted; both WindStopper (the Expert Light Tech Series W3 Jacket)
I hate companies who put their clothes into 'functional' ranges; you never know where to look in the marketing bullshit categorisations. Just list the things by product type, and let me choose what to use them for...
Expert/expert light tech/ride on/all mountain/roc session. I mean, WTF is that all about? And there's no search function.
