I ordered on Sunday to take advantage of the extra 20% off. I ordered 2 pairs treking sandals. Yesterday 1 pair arrived with a catalogue and free mug I didnt want. When I checked my email F&T had sent a notice in the day saying the order for the othe pair is CANCELLED becuase they are out of stock. The product style and size are still showing as available on F&T this morning ( Wednesday) and I am able to select and proceed to checkout. Why does the site show stock that is not available. Had I known the product was out of stock I would have ordered something else. Now I will have to re order and incur delivery again and not get 20% off. I wanted these sandals urgently. There is no phone number on the site, what i want to do is call Customer services, check available stock, re-order and have my delivery waived due to the inconvenience and as a goodwill allow me 20% which I would haev had if the website had not been showing erroneous availability when I ordered. I dont want to email or write. I want a human and instant resolution. F&T show a complete lack of customer service or respect.

field and trek are abit goofy but they're bloody cheap so stop moaning. some people make me laugh, they want something for nothing and just because it doesn't entirely go their way the world has ended. i ordered 3 items worth £132 for 65quid of them last week , it was all genuine reductions and came two days after ordering. I think they may have made a fiver profit at the most.

I have been very happy with ordering stuff on line with F&T. However, I have a big problem with their web site, which takes for ever to load. Through my standard connection it can take up to 10 minutes to load a page. Experimenting with other connections available to me the best I can get is about one minute to load a page. It has been like this for several months. I might buy more stuff, if I could ever get to see it

I'm with Toblerone. F&T have crap customer service and iffy stock control but the prices are outstanding. If you want customer service find a different retailler and pay the extra for the better service. I ordered over £300 worth of gear for £180 on Sunday and it all arrived yesterday with a free mug that my lad has taken to work. Previous bargains have included a Laser Comp at less than half RRP.

I have found the phone number on Amazon for F&T customer services. I am number 17 in a queue. THis suggests I am not the only person who is disatisfied with the service or has a problem with their order. The price in the sale is great I agree, but my expectation as a customer is that if the seller is offering that price and those terms then I can reasonably expect them to perform, they chose the price they offer, not me. If they had a disclaimer saying "we can offer this price but this means the stock we show as available may not be and if its not we dont advertise this and we will allow you to order even though we dont have it and you wont know becuase even when we send you a confirmation to say we do we may be wrong and we might tell you 3 days later we cant fulfil, and whatsmore you cant have a phone number to call us to check the stock in advance before you order" then that would be fair enough. Now I do know I will not have that expectation if I chose to order again.

but then you choose to order from them. "If they had a disclaimer ..." do you mean something like this. a not uncommon statement for a, one would expect, busy online retailer. "Q Why has an item been cancelled from my order? A Items will be cancelled from your order if we are unable to locate them during our picking process. The most common reason is that we no longer have that item in stock. Our website is updated on a regular basis and all items advertised online are in stock at the time of an update. Unfortunately on very rare occasions where we have small quantities of a particular item, orders placed between updates may exceed the quantity of items we have available. In such circumstances we will allocate goods to the customers on a first come, first served basis." i can only suggst that in future your read all online retailers terms and conditions, plus any help pages plus any faq pages before ordering.

Cath, it will be interesting to hear what they say when you get through. I appreciate your unhappiness with them. As to being number 17 well that could be considered quite good, they do have nearly 400 stores and a large web presence, but then maybe as the number isn't obvious that's not so good. I'm quite surprised you waited 3 days to find out though. I received an email Sunday evening telling me what was shipping.

possibly awaiting response from shops to see if they had a pair. it's what rohan do if they haven't got something.

Am sorry to hear about your issues with F&T, I've used them quite some time cause as stated you get bargains. I did however notice one time when looking for an item, then after a few hours going back to look at it again, it failed to be found using there search engine, but i did see it again when browsing through the pages. So what am trying to say, even that it may be of no help to you now. Is that it is worth (or at least i found it) checking for the item with there search function. I could be wrong, but i just do it that way now & so far have had no problems. Could be luck, or more probably bad programing on there part!

Went to the store in Derby yesterday - regrettably closing down. Bought a jacket at a discount; fits really well, very definitely water-proof. Friendly, helpful staff; no problems at all. Sorry they're not going to be there much longer.
