I hesitate to mention this, but ....
... I've just come back from 5 days in Snowdonia. When driving up I realised I'd forgotten my towel. I've been using one of those light blue, small thingies which absorbs quite a lot of water although they do feel a little weird.
So, I stopped in Betwys and went off to Stewart Cunninghams to buy a new camping towel. As a way of inciting all kinds of emotive responses here I decided to try one of the Paramo towels (I can sense the blood pressure rising already).
Well, this is an amazing piece of kit! Essentially what you have is a towel made of Mountain Vent material, fleecy on one side and sheer on the other. When you dry yourself with the fleecy side you can actually feel the water being sucked through to the sheer side, leaving you with a dry drying side! Drying your hair with one of these is something of a revelation.
This is not as light as the usual camping towels and probably not to be taken on a lightweight trek. But for other situations it is truly amazing!
(psst, don't tell everyone!)
